Test

All five BOBNet sites are complete and have been uploaded to their respective hosts. Links have been added to the individual host review pages here at Bestofthebestwebhosting.com. They are also listed below.

Each BOBNet site contains the elements found on many of today’s personal and small business sites. To ensure a level playing field, the same four pages with nearly identical content appear on each site. These include a welcome page, photo gallery, download area, and page with a small but powerful connection speed test (courtesy of Speedtest.net).

You’ll also find advertising in the form of banner ads from each host as well as sponsored links from Google’s wildly popular AdSense program. Our ulterior motive for displaying paid advertising may seem obvious, but including ads also makes BOBNet more like the “real” Internet.

Have a click around and let us know what you think. There’s still more to come, but we’re very close to firing on all cylinders. We hope you find Bestofthebestwebhosting helpful and wish you the best in your search.

Next up… A primer on overselling, alternatively titled, “How they can sell a whole server worth of hosting for less than 10 bucks”.

Here we are on day one. Tonight we started uploading content and setting up BOBnet (test sites on each BOB web host). Please bear with us as we launch the site. Feel free to check out the comparison matrix while you’re here.

EDIT (February 9, 2008): Already received an email asking how to register and comment on the blog. Registration and comments are disabled for now. Once the site is up and running, we will weigh the value of opening up posts for comment. Judging by the slander and gladhanding that fills other web hosting forums and blogs, it’s not likely. Email comments are always welcome and will be addressed either publicly on the blog or privately via a reply.
