A recent WHIR (Web Hosting Industry Review) article reports that the North Country Gazette is publicly airing its dissatisfaction with IPOWER. While most online evaluations of web hosts are dubious at best, this particular data point strikes us as credible. The fact that we have yet to see an equally public denial from IPOWER strengthens that assessment.

According to WHIR,

This case against the Web host is just one of many complaints against IPOWER within recent months, prompting many customers to threaten to leave the Web host. Complaints concerning website crashes, poor tech support and billing errors have been rampant since the company merged with Web host Endurance International Group last year.

IPOWER currently has an unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau of Central, Northern and Western Arizona. The latest BBB report on IPOWER lists consumer complaints concerning the Web host’s contracts, billing and repairs. It’s probably not the best time to admit that IPOWER has been, until recently, under review as a potential BOB host. We’ve known a number of IPOWER customers and they were perfectly happy the last time we checked. Things can change quickly, however, especially when explosive growth provides the backdrop.
